THE VANITY OF HAVING EVERYTHING

Not everything is meant to be seen, sometime we go too deep we want to know everything forgetting the fact that curiosity kill

Yes we came, then we saw but conquest came with a price, an insatiable lust for more

Scratching the surface wasn't enough we crumble the whole wall and it is now crashing down on us

Planting our footprints on the moon wasn't enough we want the sun even when we know that  we will get burnt

With all our knowledge and intellect we failed to grasp the concept of contentment

We feel our fair share is not enough so we took it all, things that doesn't belong to us

Greed is in our nature, we can no longer stop, so we push on, stretching our limits and testing our breaking point

We are blinded by our desire, like the men of old we are building Babel but this tower is in our heart

We do not see the vanity that awaits us, so we blindly build a weapon that will destroy us

Now that we are still standing we refuse to take heed, our ear is not open to advice and fall we shall

when the dazzling light shines forth, for it will purge us and only then will salvation come.
