THE JOURNEY OF PURPOSE DISCOVERY

In this journey of purpose discovery, there are lots of things we need to do There are lots of mistakes we will make, and lots of lessons to learn from them There are lots of questions we need to ask and lots of  decisions we need to take, There may be some bridges we need to burn, and some people we need to cut off There are times we need to yield to the fact that we can't do it all alone, and accept that some things are beyond our control But most importantly, there are times we need to close our door to the outside world and commune with our God

IT'S DECEMBER AGAIN AND NOTHING HAS CHANGE

It's December again, and nothing has change One more year came and now it's gone yet things still remains the same My hopes and dreams were turned into nightmares When I tried moving forward regret calls me back to see the mistakes I have made I didn't plan for it to end this way, the thought of things I never push myself to do are now keeping me awake So I stay up most night, and sometimes I can catch glimpses of myself fading away, There it goes, I can still hear the whispers from the road I never traveled, it says now you will never know And now it's December again, and things are still the same, one more year came and now it's gone, still nothing has change

THE VANITY OF HAVING EVERYTHING

Not everything is meant to be seen, sometime we go too deep we want to know everything forgetting the fact that curiosity kill Yes we came, then we saw but conquest came with a price, an insatiable lust for more Scratching the surface wasn't enough we crumble the whole wall and it is now crashing down on us Planting our footprints on the moon wasn't enough we want the sun even when we know that  we will get burnt With all our knowledge and intellect we failed to grasp the concept of contentment We feel our fair share is not enough so we took it all, things that doesn't belong to us Greed is in our nature, we can no longer stop, so we push on, stretching our limits and testing our breaking point We are blinded by our desire, like the men of old we are building Babel but this tower is in our heart We do not see the vanity that awaits us, so we blindly build a weapon that will destroy us Now that we are still standing we refuse to take heed, our ear is not op...

SOMEONE SAID CHRISTMAS

Someone said Christmas and I could almost hear the sound of the Harmattan wind. I could feel the dry air as it hit my skin, O what wonderful memories this season brings I paused, lost in thought I could see the children in their beautiful Christmas wears, I smiled as I watched them laugh and cheer It's Christmas again, that time of the year that is filled with excitement and joy There is a feeling in the air, a feeling of love a feeling of thankfulness as our Faraway brethren returns home Christmas bring to mind the prophecy of baby Jesus, the one whose birth will change the world He did came to save us all, O what a season to relive the glorious wonder of his touch

THE VIEW FROM HERE

Here I am sitting in a lecture theatre, the smell of clothes soaked in sweat fills the air Outside the window the boy beside the POS terminal is pressing his phone The word that comes to mind as I sit and stare is Journey This is where I am now, but is it where am meant to be? Here I am in this crowded hall where everyone is busy and kind of in their own separate world The noise here is drowning but my mind is elsewhere Destination, when will I arrive? I tried to close my eyes  and imagine all the things that are outside my reach  and with this invincible hands I claim what is mine

THE COMMANDMENT I NEGLECTED

The commandment I Neglected The stories I didn't tell are all coming back to me. How I wish I could hit reset, maybe then I might just do things well or Differently I guess The commandment I Neglected The neighbors I refuse to help are all screaming and I could hear their cries all the way from hell These ones are now beyond my help and their blood is in my hands The commandment I Neglected What about the ones I killed with my tongue? This ones did me no wrong, I do take pleasure in the use of my words, I can't help it if they but destroys The commandment I Neglected Now am filled with regrets and my eyes are swollen with tears am afraid of what comes next and I fear that it might be too late to repent

THE WAKE UP CALL

A great philosopher once said, "Man know thyself" you can be deceptive to others but you cannot decieve yourself You know your true identity, you know the kind of things you engage in behind close doors, You know when your heart is pure, you know your flaws Irrespective of who you are or the kind of life you live, there comes a time when you will have to decide on the type of person you want to become It happens, you wake up one morning and it's like your whole being is telling you to change, Your conscience is pricking you from the inside, and letting you know that you can become a better version of yourself You may try to shake off the feeling, but the more you try the more resilient it get, it bothers you, it keeps you up at night, that is Jesus, the master of the universe, He is the one knocking at your door, He so love you and he wants to get close to you, all you have to do is just let him in. He will take you on the best journey of your life, he will ...
